WELCOME TO THE SITE OF KEDO LIBERIA ASSOCIATION (french branch) !
(Kpalo-Bli Education & Development Organisation in Liberia)
The purpose of this non-profit association is to develop the projects of sustainable development on the grounds of education, social, health, economic and culture in the heart of the village of Kpalo-Bli in Liberia (West Africa) and in the neighboring villages.
This association was created at the initiative of Liberians, members of the diaspora of this village and the surrounding villages, also including but not limited to those now living in the capital of Monrovia or immigrated to Europe and the United States…
There are also all those who, throughout the world, regardless of their origin, support the goals of the association.
Today, the association is composed of three active branches, that work hand in hand to concretize all the projects :
- a branch in France
- a branch in the United States (See their website >>>)
- a branch in Liberia
Kpalo-Bli and its surrounding villages were not spared by the bloody civil war that ravaged Liberia for fourteen years (1989- 2003). In the context of reconstruction Kpalo-Bli was completely burned down during the conflict and has immense needs.
The inhabitants are struggling to improve their daily life condition in a very difficult environment. Since January 2014, a terrible Ebola epidemic has attacked West Africa : more than 11 000 victims in the three main infected countries: Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia that counts more than 4 800 deceased persons. Despite the end of the epidemic in May 2015, the already fragile situation is getting worse and the inhabitants need all aid possible in addition to the Liberian government efforts, which also lacks the means.
The construction of an elementary school under the aegis of the association has just been inaugurated in February 2014 in the presence of all these who contributed to the realization of the project, a few months before the Ebola epidemic (see photos here >>>).
There are other projects in preparation within the area of culture, healthcare and agriculture. Currently a collective community cassava farm program is being launched – an initiative for which the organization has received a partial financial subsidy from the Agence des Microprojets. You could also assist us by sending your donations – tax deductible for tax-payers residing in France – through the guaranteed payment system of the Agence des Microprojets (for information, click here >>>).
